State-quota NIT seats and reputed state colleges

Range that has historically reached state-quota seats at NITs (via home-state preference) and strong state engineering colleges.

Built from previous years' published percentile-to-rank trends for the selected category, not this year's official data. Actual rank depends on this year's normalization across shifts and applicant count — see our guide to how entrance-exam cutoffs move.

How this estimate is built

This tool interpolates your expected percentile against previous years' publicly reported percentile-to-rank correlations for your selected category, then widens the result into a range to account for year-to-year differences in normalization and applicant numbers. It is a planning estimate, not a prediction of this year's actual result.

JEE Main reports a normalized percentile rather than a raw score because the exam runs across multiple shifts with different question sets, each scaled against that shift's own applicant pool. Your final CRL rank depends on the current year's official NTA result, and your actual seat depends on JoSAA/CSAB's published cutoffs and real-time seat availability during each counselling round. Use this range to build a shortlist of safe, moderate, and ambitious colleges — not to rule any option out.
