About this paper
This is the ICSE Class 10 Commercial Studies question paper from the 2017 examination, retyped with the site's answers after each question. Section A (40 marks) is compulsory and has four questions of five two-mark parts each, opening with five distinguish-between pairs such as overdraft and cash credit and recruitment and selection. In Section B (40 marks) candidates attempt any four of Questions 5–10, worth 10 marks each: long answers on communication barriers, advertising as a social waste, off-the-job training, the central bank, insurance, warehousing and budgets, and a final accounts question asking for a trading account, profit and loss account and balance sheet from a trial balance. A few answers are left out with a note that they are no longer in the syllabus.
