About this paper

This is ISC Class 12 Computer Science Paper 2 (Practical), code 868B, from the 2020 board examination. It is marked out of 30. Three hours are allowed, plus fifteen minutes to read the paper, divided into a 90-minute planning session and a 90-minute examination session that begins only when planning is over. Candidates attempt any one of three Java problems. The chosen problem is marked for an algorithm (3), the documented program (7), a printout that compiles and runs (2) and a test run on the sample data (3). The year's practical file is assessed by the teacher (10) and the visiting examiner (5). The problems are Prime-Adam integers, octal rows converted to decimal, and sorting words by length.

Questions from this paper

  1. A Prime-Adam integer is both prime and an Adam number. Accept m and n, with m less than n, and display every Prime-Adam integer from m to n inclusive, with the frequency.
  2. Between 5 and 100 the Prime-Adam integers are 11, 13 and 31, so the frequency is 3. If m is greater than n, the input is invalid.
  3. Fill an M × N matrix with digits 0 to 7 so that each row is an octal number, then display the matrix and the decimal equivalent of every row. M is from 1 to 9 and N is from 3 to 5.
  4. The octal row 2 3 1 has decimal value 2×8² + 3×8¹ + 1×8⁰ = 153.
  5. Accept an uppercase sentence ending in '.', '?' or '!'. Check only the terminating character, then arrange the words by increasing length, and alphabetically when lengths are equal.
  6. AS YOU SOW SO SHALL YOU REAP. becomes AS SO SOW YOU YOU REAP SHALL after the words are arranged.
