About this paper

This is the ICSE Class 10 Computer Applications paper set by CISCE for the 2026 board examination (paper code T26 861). It carries 100 marks, with two hours of writing time after 15 minutes of reading time. Section A (40 marks) is compulsory: twenty multiple-choice questions, including two assertion–reason items and picture-based ones such as the earth's rotation and revolution as a nested loop, then ten two-mark parts on loop conversion, expression evaluation, ternary operators, output tracing and arrays. In Section B students answer any four of six Java programs worth 15 marks each, among them a StepTracker class, a sparse-matrix check, a Mark number and a Symbolic word. This copy has the questions only.

Questions from this paper

  1. Users must be above 10 years of age to open a self-operated bank account. Write this logic using a ternary operator, store the eligibility message in a String variable named idStatus and print it.
  2. Write the Java expression to find the sum of the cube root of x and the absolute value of y.
  3. Define a class named StepTracker that accepts a user's name and steps walked, calculates calories burned as steps × 0.04 and distance in km as steps / 1300, and displays the results.
  4. Write a program to accept a 4 × 5 integer array and check whether it is a Sparse Matrix, that is, whether the number of zero elements is greater than the number of non-zero elements.
  5. Write a program to accept a number and check whether it is a Mark number: the sum of the squares of its digits is even and ends in the same digit as the number itself.
  6. Write a program to accept a word and print its Symbolic word, formed by taking the characters from the first consonant onwards, adding the characters before the first consonant, and ending with "TR".
